Hi!
And here are the things that we must add before releasing East vs West Version 0.87.0 We must set a deadline, in my opinion the 25th this week is a good deadline. So under here is a list of the things that need to be done. You are free to choose what you want to work on, just dont forget to write what you want to do.
- Fix naval moduels so they work better - link
- Fix the Invasion bug - link
- Create more historicly accurate events with pictures ( to few in the game, and "secondary powers" like Sweden, Yugoslavia, Canada and so on has way to few events and decisions )
- Make Technology budget matter more ( increase difference in technology spending ) - link
- Add more pictures to leaders
- Fix the bug where AI nuclear powers never retaliate with nukes ( AI never using nukes in defcon 1 )
- Fix the problem with major powers dropping down far in rankings - link
EDIT: Today i noticed that not beeing able to join the U.N is not restricted to P.R.C, i tried Rhodesia and a few other countries, same problem, it's a big game breaking problem since the factions are a large part of the game, not beeing to join the U.N is a big problem, this problem should be prioritized i think. i tried looking into it but i cant seem to fix it

1. Having a quick scan through the units text files, I can't see a way to affect this (no reference to the weapons modules). If you can think of somewhere else for me to look, let me know (I don't see anywhere else), but this one might mean having access to the source. 2. Can you please upload a copy of the save file somewhere for me to play with? Another one that's hard to imagine fixing with text files, though. 3. Passing for now, more interested in technical issues. 4. I can have a play with this and see what happens. 5. Pass. 6. I've scanned ai_nuclear and ai_nuclear_minister text files. Without being acquainted with LUA I don't think I can help much on this one. 7. I don't see any text or .lua files containing conditions for ranking nations. Do you know what was modified that caused you to drop? Economy? Prestige?

Despite that many improvement have reached,but does the game crash when i click on the TRADE button? And i appreciate your impressive effort for soling such issues. Doesn't happen to me - are you using the 0.86.0 version?

If anyone want to add anything to add for 0.87.0 just write it here. i will fine tune the leader traits to make them more balanced, i've already done a lot of work there so now it's just to fine tune it. i'll look into that Trade problem and i'll also look into nr. 7 about majors dropping in rank.

ok i balanced the traits for leaders. and i fixed the Trade crash problem I tried looking into events but it is a mystery for me of how they work here. Anyone can give me a tiny tutorial on how to make events so i can get started?

I'm pretty sure that it's mostly the same as hoi3. The only difference I can see is in how evw handles the event descriptions and choices. Those are all bundled in a few big localization files.

Ok, I´ll try to find and assign some pictures for the currently existing leaders.
EDIT: But I still need some time to start cause my GIMP is fucked up and I need to find a soloution for the libgimp-2.0-0.dll problem

Alright, unfortunate news: The Invasion bug must be somewhere in the source code. No lua or txt file references military movements or naval actions.
Fortunately, though, there are many references to naval modules. Maybe I can tackle that instead, I'll start working on that.
If anyone knows where an invasion reference is in the files we can access, feel free to let me know. Looks bleak, though.
