Hi all,
There were several debates around this topic when the game was still under official construction. The Devs said first that they won´t do changable flags and latter added that they maybe release a DLC regarding the flags. But after all this is history the problem still remains. Is there any possibility to mod the flag system similar to maybe Victoria II where each form of government and ideology would have its own flag? The Devs said that both flag system differ but all in all wouldn´t it be possible that the different flags can be used for different tags? So let´s say if I change from Royal Iran to the Islamic Republic of Iran I change from the tag PER-monarchy to PER-theocracy? Would that be an option? Are there any other ways?
I tink this whole thing would really really enhance the game. Of course now the most important thing about the game is to fix the major bugs, but for the future or in general I think we should not forget about that topic. I mean nobody wants to play as Gamal Abdel Nasser with a Egyptian royalist flag or as Spanish Republic with a Franquist flag. This just destroys the whole atmosphere of the game if a player is stuck with just one flag per nation.

Is there any possibility to mod the flag system similar to maybe Victoria II where each form of government and ideology would have its own flag? I highly doubt it. That is not part of the game code, otherwise the devs would have announced it. It is possible, but adding a significant number of new tags would have noticeable performance effects (and would be a lot of work).

You could create lua functions to fix this, but it allot of work, and need allot of flags pre-made. I think the main focus should be to fix the game, rid it of all the bugs and implement the intended content.

I think the main focus should be to fix the game, rid it of all the bugs and implement the intended content. This. Alexsey is working on fixing the naval bug and will have an upload for us soon. I will post the new download link when it is ready. Hopefully the new build will clean up those unneccessary .exes and HoI3 files. I should probably also patch in some of the fixes we the community have created.

Sure, but as I already said I think this is something we should consider in general or for the future. I did not say that this has priority over bug and gameplay fixing
