It´s known ,that countries of the eastern block, especially czechoslovakia, gave scholarships to heirs of undeveloped countries(monarchies) to ensure influence,trade partnerships(usually oil) and renome(prestige).

After the czechoslovakian commmunist coup,the focus changed on russion language,russian history,russian literature,theories,philosophies......
