I am having problem with elections because they say they will be in 2027 or some other number outside the game, how do I fix this?

It was made because elections would crash the game everytime they would fire. arian found a better solution for it tho. You need to go to the Common folder you find "Governments" and "Governments - old" there now you delete the "Government.txt" and rename the "Governments - old.txt" into Governments now you go into the Game and open the Message options search for "show a Pop-up for when elections are held and click on this icons till they all are Red. So the Game doesn't crash only downside though is you don't see what party has won but I think its better to have that then no elections at all.

only downside though is you don't see what party has won but I think its better to have that then no elections at all. But you can easily check after the election to see who won by going to the politics tab so basically I see no problem. Hopefully someone can fix the election result screen though so it doesn't crash
