often times fixes will just bring more problems. the korean war still ends abruptly in 2.2 and the 'invasion zones' are simply awarded to the south koreans when the war ends randomly giving weird borders like this. without wars ending properly and sea invasions being impossible to fix the game is eternally broken what could have been.. If you have it available, I'd recommend using the Hearts of Iron 3 - TFH ai_diplomacy.lua file. I've been using that, and diplomacy works a LOT better than the default. It's the same scripting language and I've noticed no bugs with it.

You can do exactly that.
You simply just copy over the ai_diplomacy.lua file from HOI3/script to EvW/script, and it works just fine. AI behaves normally from my observations. Peace treaties are actually signed. Wars seem to break out every so often. It's a much better fix than what is currently there, and is very easy if you have the files available. You can copy HOI3 AI files over and I think the results work pretty well, since there are not (from what I can see) issues with scripting language as EvW was essentially built on HOI3 base.

The USSR and China seem to be swamped with rebels all the time. I think this might be because of the dissent increase from the cash inflow event.
