While I'm still doing bug-hunting and minor fixes, something I've been thinking about for awhile is overhauling the current EvW music playlist. I like the music that Paradox wanted to include originally (some of it even composed by fans!) so I'm not going to get rid of it. However, I think it would be nice to add a bit of flavor. So what I will do, hopefully, is compose an alternate playlist to add to the game featuring music of the Cold War era. In the music directory, I've found the ability to set the game music based on the player country's region, ambient events, and date.
My goal at the end of this project is to have a playlist full of music that defined this generation that recognizes and adapts to in-game events and creates a more immersive game experience.
Here's a sample of what I'm thinking about adding:
The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son
Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
Eric Clapton - Cocaine
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
Pink Floyd - Mother
John Lennon - Imagine
Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth
The Byrds - Turn Turn Turn
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone
Nena - 99 Luftballons [for FDR/DDR/Central Europe]
This is just a sample, obviously I'll make songs region specific so you won't be hearing the Beatles playing as the Soviet Union (or will you?).
