Looks like the unsolvable problems that led to this being cancelled in the first place haven't gone away. Fixing this unfinished junk is an impossible task even with the source code, let alone without it. |

Fixing this unfinished junk is an impossible task even with the source code, let alone without it. It is not exactly unsolvable if the sourcecode would have been leaked as well. But since that is not the case it is unsolvable. When you look at the game it had some very nice ideas but unfortunately it did not work out. Paradox should make their own cold war game which would be based on the latest engine version and look at what ideas were really good in EvW(there were plenty of really good ones) and implement them. That would be the best thing ever as we really lack a great cold war game,really what is there in the cold war era? Supreme ruler, which is even buggier than this EvW. |

I hope Paradox do do a Cold War game at some point, but the forum outrage from the conspiracy theorists who are still (for some reason) convinced that Paradox killed EvW so they could release a game of their own is likely to be pretty spectacular. BTW - HOI4 is now in slippage, and likely to be released as a late as Q1 2016, which only goes to show that, yes, Paradox will delay games - even their flagship titles - if they think they're not up to spec. |

Initially it certainly looked that way but now when we got to experience this buggy mess then it is very clear why they decided to cancel it altogether. Yeah unfortunately HoI4 has been delayed already and an imminent delay is coming, there is no way that they will be able to release the game in Q2, maybe late Q3 is still possible. I really hope that they don't delay it to Q1 2016 though. Also I remember you from Paradox forums, more specifically from just the EvW forums(the good old days...) and indeed you were one of the very few who were (unfortunately) correct in your assessment about the state of the game even before it has been cancelled. |
